Honestly, what a miserable day it was. I could just as well have spent it in bed! Mother got irritable with me because I got my new shoes wet, but someone has to walk the silly dog and all the servants were busy. I spent the rest of the afternoon barefoot in the library, hiding from her. Shhh, nobody tell on me, please.
Are the Smiths still having their picnic this week? And is anyone else planning on being there? I'm almost positive I'll be made to go, but maybe it could even be fun.
